No not throwing up….
Jake plays an Irish sport called hurling which is a cross between field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, baseball and bowling. Okay, not bowling. But you can kick the ball, pick it up and hit it with your hurley stick, balance it on the end of your stick and run or just accidentally brutally smash another person. This is how Jake broke his hand a while back.
The gents usually just scrimmage one another but last weekend, in 105 degrees, the day we moved into our house, they had a real match against another team – the formidable Seattle Gaels. Fortunately some real live Irish people who work at Intel came to their rescue and they won! I almost got heatstroke.
This was also a major victory for me as I successfully managed to use our new video camera. Check out my skillz below. Now we are totally ready to tape a gruesome baby birth! Don’t worry, we won’t be posting that on the blog.
At Jake’s bequest I am also adding a “real” hurling video because my footage doesn’t show all the majesty of the game. I’ll let you decide which is my taping.
